All-consuming fire You’re our heart’s desire. Living flame of love come baptize us. Let us fall more in love with You

Hi hey hello,

I got a ton done yesterday. Well, it really wasn’t all that much, but when you usually do nothing, it was a lot. I went to Goodwill to drop some stuff off, went to the bank, cleaned my car, signed up for CRoSSWILD, and tutored my cousin. Overall, a pretty successful day.

What I want to write about it not that though, I want to talk a little more in depth about the message given on Friday night at Unite Wakulla, specifically Josh’s part. One thing he talked about was Revelation 4. He used the picture of the throne room of God that John sees to show just how HUGE God is. Let’s just look for a second at that chapter:

And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in whiteand had crowns of gold on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits[a] of God. Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.

Okay, so God looks to made of rubies and diamonds, beauty beyond compare. He has a rainbow that looks like emeralds encricleing Him. There is lightening and thunder all around the throne. That is insane. On top of that, all around the throne there is a sea of glass. That image has got to be the most beautiful thing I can possibly imagine. One thing that I always need reminding of is that anyone and everyone who came before God did not remain standing, but fell on their faces before God in utter worship and fear.

That is the God we serve. That is the God we choose to turn our backs on regularly, who we disobey. This is the God we decide isn’t worthy of our worship. We put ourselves on the same level as Him. Even though we do all of these things, and God knows we do, He still chose to send His perfect Son to die for us so we could spend eternity with Him. That right there is some good news.

It blows my mind each and every day that a God like this, one with so much majesty, power, and beauty would want to even be in the presence of sinners like us.

How does that make you all feel?

Who, oh Lord could save themselves. Their own soul could heal. Our shame was deeper than the sea. Your grace went deeper still.

Hi hey hello,

Last night at youth group, we sort of talked about some of the things we talked about at CRosSWilD. It was a low-key night because all of our worship leaders were sick. Our youth pastor chalked it up to “over-worshipping” at the retreat, as if that is possible. Anyway, one of the major things we talked about last night was being bold in what you are called to do, we were given some time to pray, and it kind of struck me. I am not really doing what I thought I was being called to do right now.

I feel like I am. I do little things here and there that could be construed as obedience to God’s call on my life, but I know my heart. At this point I just do those things to chill out my conscience. I want to do it out of true obedience to God, not because I will feel bad if I don’t do it. I want boldness to step up and do what I am called to do, even if it is a little awkward. I should be thankful for this incredible blessing that I have and therefore, I should want to share it with EVERYONE. Instead, I am complacent in my life right now. I am comfortable. I want to be uncomfortable. I want to step out there. I am just scared to.

Prayers would be much appreciated as I begin to push my boundaries a little.

Do you feel called by God to do something? If so, are are being obedient?

PS. Happy March!

Your presence is all I need. It’s all I want, all I seek. Without it, without it there’s no meaning.

Hi hey hello,

I hope you all had a spectacular weekend! I know I did. This weekend I attended the spring retreat version of the camp I attended over the summer. It is called CRosSWilD and essentially, I have never been to a camp like it. I go there expecting God to do amazing things, and boy does He. Lives are changed. People are saved. Hearts are softened. It is really an amazing experience. I could go on and on about how awesome I think it is, but I will pick out a few things that were my favorite.

1. My Quality Time group. These groups are just a small group that you meet regularly to discuss the sessions and what God is doing is your heart. Mine was absolutely amazing. I cannot even describe how wonderful they were, especially my leaders. Lauren and Nick were AWESOME. They lead great discussions and really made us be honest.

2. The worship. First off, thank you so much Ocean’s Edge for coming down and helping out. The band is always amazing, beyond words, this year was no exception. These guys and girl are such talented people and they are so on fire for Christ, it is unbelievably encouraging. It is so cool to see some of my worship leaders up there with the people from Ocean’s Edge worshipping their hearts out. They helped lead us into worship, and were able to worship for themselves as well.

3. The theme. The theme this year was, It’s TIME. This basically meant that it is time for us as students to step up and do what God is calling us to do. To make a decision on what we believe. To step out of our comfort zones for Him. To break free of the things holding us back. To live for God as if we only have one week left. It was exactly what I needed at this point in my life.

4. The leaders. Not just in my group, but also the interns back at Calvary. Sarah and Laura, I love you guys so much. I do not know what I would do without you guys. Thank you for all that you do.

If you ever get the opportunity to go to CRosSWilD, take that opportunity. God will show up and work powerfully, in you if you will engage. If you want to know more about it go to http://www.crosswild.com
