At Your name, mountains shake and crumble. At Your name, the oceans roll and tumble. At Your name, angels will bow. The earth will rejoice, Your people cry out.

Hi hey hello,

God answers prayers in the most mysterious ways. For those of you who don’t know, my best friend, Cassidy, has been off at worship college. Many of my other high school friends also went off to college this year. And for the past few months I haven’t really had any close friends. I haven’t had anyone that I can just rant to, or go see that silly movie with, or have real talk with. And to be honest, it has really bummed me out.

I have been praying for a while for God to give me a friend. And no, I am not saying that any of you are not my friends. I have been praying for a solid friend who will be blunt about things I need to do, who will snap me back into shape, who will give me real talk when I need it, who will tell me to shut up when I am being an idiot (which is quite common.) God has been showing me through this time that I have been literally depending upon my friends for my relationship with Him. My friends have been above Him. He has been showing me that I don’t necessarily need friends all the time. I am learning to depend on Him. I am learning to not turn to that friend, but to Him, when I am upset or worried about something. He is the ultimate real talker. He will snap me back into shape. He will be blunt. God is the ultimate friend, because not only will He love me unconditionally when I am being stupid (which is also quite common), but He will show me real quick if I am not doing what I am supposed to be doing. He knows exactly what it takes to get me to listen.

And slowly God has been providing me friends, from places I never expected.

My hiding place. My safe refuge. My treasure Lord You are. My friend and King Anointed. One Most Holy.

Hi hey hello,

I hope you all had a spectacular Wednesday. Mine was pretty good, went to class, ate lunch, did homework, went to Wakulla. Guys, I love being an intern at Wakulla. It is just amazing. This week we legitimately only had one kid show up, but you know what, even though we didn’t really have Bible study, getting some time to spend with this group of interns (and Cameron) was a great time.

I love the group of people I work with. Ashleigh, Wesley, and Josh are such awesome people to hang out with. They are so amazing. We essentially hung out for a while, then had a time of prayer and reading the Word individually. We got to pray for the youth group and the direction that it is heading now. It was such a great time. Afterwards, we went outside and threw the football. Well, Wesley, Josh, and Cameron did, I stoof and watched (and got eaten by mosquitos).

I absolutely love where I am right now. I love college, my friends, Wakulla. It is so great!

Do you like where you are right now? If not, how can you change it?

Rain falls, quickly wetting my hair and clothes My cries fall upon her deaf ears more tears

Hi hey hello,

No Friday Favorites! today because honestly, I haven’t been super inspired by much this week. It will be back up next with if all goes as planned!

Anyway, this week has been a weird one. It literally has consisted of almost the same thing everyday. I wake up around 9:15, eat breakfast, do my quiet time, work out, take a shower, eat lunch, go to the shop, go home, eat dinner, veg, watch Doctor Who, go to bed. With the exception of tutoring my cousin on Monday and Thursday, it is stayed pretty routine.

I like routines. One of my favorite parts about going to school was knowing that it would be just about the same everyday. I knew what to expect and what was going to happen. During summer, there isn’t a schedule, for the most part, and usually I just spend my time lazing around, which gets super boring. I am glad that I finally am trying to kick that habit, and at least do something for a little part of my day. The one thing I miss about school, besides the routine, seeing my closest friends everyday. I haven’t seen many of them in FOREVER. I kinda sorta serious miss them. I want to have a movie night or something to get us all back together! (Jenny!!! 🙂

Have a great weekend!

Are you into routines or do you prefer the unorganized way?

Listen, baby, ain’t no mountain high enough. Ain’t no valley low, ain’t no river wide enough, baby.

Hi hey hello,

Last night I attended the LEX concert at my school. The LEX program is essentially an elective course in which you learn some art form of your choice. My best friend, Brian M., did bass guitar for his LEX, Matt and Kat did Shakespeare, Keren did dance, Anna Grace did musical theatre, and Brian Tdid acting. I mean, I knew there was some talent in my school, but I had no idea just the amount of it.

First, if this concert was a contest, Anna Grace won. She was so unbelievably amazing. Her voice is like that of an angel. She is so beautiful and wonderful. Second, Kat and Matt are simply two of the most amazing actors that I know. I LOVED their pieces. Third, I have an uber talented best friend. He was jamming to The Beatles and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough for his presentation. Brian T is really awesome as well, it has been really cool to see how much he has progressed. Keren was graceful, as always. She danced to some really good songs.

If you ever get the chance to attend any sort of arts program event at Community Christian School, do it. This school is so full of so many people with so much talent, though I am not one of them, I am so proud of what my fellow classmates have accomplished.

What are your opinions of the arts?

PS. I have my AP Calculus exam today at 7:30am, prayers are appreciated!

Closed off from love, I didn’t need the pain. Once or twice was enough and it was all in vain.

Hi hey hello,

Yesterday was a rather rough day, but it ended on a high note. School was school, but AFTER SCHOOL, I had lots of rehearsals, one for senior choir at school and the other for a big, awesome worship event coming up, called Inside Out 2013. It’s in Thomasville, GA next weekend, you should all check it out! After rehearsals, I went to my dear friend, Jenny’s house, where I ended up staying the night.

Kate made cheesecake muffins and Jenny made brownies. So unbelievably yummy! I love my friends!

Quite a day! I cannot believe we have some around 5 weeks of school left! 5 weeks until I am a high school student
no longer! I cannot believe that.

Yes we’re going to a party party. Yes we’re going to a party party. I would like you to dance, birthday. Take a cha-cha-cha-chance, birthday.

Hi hey hello,

As some of you may know, my birthday was Friday! I turned the big one eight. Yesterday I did my first thing you have to be 18 to do, I went and bought spray paint. At first, she didn’t ask for my ID, so I was kind of sad, but then she realized her mistake and checked my ID. It sort of made my day.

For my birthday however, I realized just how awesome my friends are. When I first got to school, I saw a sign on my locker, it read something along the lines of, “I didn’t have any paper to make you an awesome sign with… so happy birthday.” I laughed and then opened my locker, there were three signs in there, the first of which read “Psych!” The next was a nice card and at the bottom it said  ” you must be 18 years or older to call.” with an arrow pointing to it that said “that’s you!!!” It was great.

Then, my friend Taylor got to school and she brought me some wall art. It was some of my favorite quotes that were on my pinterest, painted onto scrapbook paper. It was amazing, can’t wait to frame and hang them! They are beautiful. There were lots of “happy birthdays” and hugs, but then after school, I walked down to my car and was astonished. My car was written on with window chalk. The windows read, “Birthday Princess” with a crown over my head, “I want a baby dino”, “It’s my birthday. I’m an adult. 18! I’m old.” , and “Sing happy birthday to me. You know you want to.” It was simply wonderful, then I saw the inside. I had a ton of balloons and streamers all throughout my car. I was so unbelievably happy. And then to top that all off, my friends made me cake batter puppy chow, best thing EVER. Seriously, try it.

And then, when I got to my grandparents’ house in Clearwater, they had a little cake that said happy 18th birthday.

I mean, I knew that my friends and family are awesome and what not, but I never knew to what extent exactly. I couldn’t make it through my day without my wonderful friends. They make life more bearable. I love them to death.

So, thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I love you all!

What do you like to do for your friends’ birthdays?

-LC

PS. Kate, just wait for your birthday, even though we don’t have school on that day, it is going to be legit.

Seventeen is just a test, yeah and I would recommend, that you live with no regrets. And even if it seems, like the world is crashing on you, you shouldn’t let it hold you down.

Hi hey hello,

I am not sure why I hadn’t thought of this before, since so many of my friends have been turning eighteen, but today’s post is all about what you can do at eighteen. Everyone knows about the whole you can buy cigarettes and cigars, and perhaps a lighter, but do you know some of these?

  • Buy spray paint
  • Buy lottery tickets
  • Get married
  • Change your name
  • Sue someone
  • Get sued
  • Adopt a child
  • Vote
  • Enter into a legal agreement
  • Enlist in the military
  • Work at Starbucks
  • Order something off the tv
  • Sign yourself out of school
  • Go skydiving on your own
  • Go bungee jumping

I am so happy, knowing you are the one that I want for the rest of my days.

Hey hi hello,

This weekend flew by! Friday night I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning doing cute little crafts. Pictures to be posted tomorrow! Saturday we had our varsity soccer party. It was really bittersweet. It still hasn’t sunk in yet that next year I won’t be playing soccer with John and the guys, and Kate. Sunday was spent doing absolutely nothing. I had a whole list of homework to do, and only ended up doing a few of the things on my list. It wasn’t even a relaxing day. I ran 4.5 miles and had a migraine for a lot of the day. I did spend that evening drinking Jones soda and shooting off fireworks with my brothers and best friend. That was really awesome!

Ohh Miss international love. Ohh Miss international love.

Hi hey hello,

This semester is flying by, I mean already first month back is almost over. I am graduating in a matter of months, like only a few months. six months from now, I will have graduated, I will no longer be a high school student. It still has not clicked in my head that my high school career is coming to a close, that I am truly growing up. When you are younger, you goyear to year, without much recongition, I mean, thirteen to fourteen, sixteen to seventeen, nothing real changes. But, then you reach your eighteenth birthday. It still doesn’t make sense to me that my eighteenth birthday is a few weeks away. I will be voting in this election, I can buy spray paint, I am an… adult.

In the next few years, my friends will start getting married, a few years after that they will begin to have kids. We will grow up and graduate from college, we will move on with our lives and jobs. Some of us will stay here, others will leave this little old city, some will leave this country. We will all go in different directions. So many of my friends who have already graduated are in college hundreds of miles away. More than one of my friends are preparing to leave for the military (yeah, Joshua and Winston that is your guys). Life is coming at us, fast. We have to make decisions, where we will go to college, what we want to do with our lives, who we will vote for, where we will live, what are lives are to be like.

Things are getting ready to change a lot for us. I don’t know about anyone else, but I am a mite bit excited about it. I like the idea of change, of possibly living by myself. I am excited to move on from high school and take some charge of my life. I know it will be hard, but God is good, and He has a plan for my life. I trust Him with my life. God has got me, He knows the best plan, for His greatest glory, and my greatest good.

What is changing in your life right now? Where do you think you will be in 6 months, a year, 5 years?

Jesus, You’re the one who saves us. Constantly creates us into something new. Jesus, surely you will finds us. Surely our Messiah will make all things new, will make all things new.

Hi hey hello,

These past couple weeks have been filled with spending lots and lots of time with friends, from New Year’s at Taylor’s, to whole week during the Winter Ex, to seeing Beauty and the Beast in 3D. I love getting some downtime to spend time with my girls and guys. On MLK day, I spent it watching a movie with friends and then spending the afternoon having our last soccer practice as a team. It was so enjoyable to spend our day off playing soccer with the best team I could ever ask for, but more on that later. The Beauty and the Beast in 3D was absolutely awesome. It had been so long since I had seen it, so seeing it in 3D was spectacular, if you like the movie and get a chance, go see it.

We spent Winter Ex spending moment after moment with each other, it is wonderful to get to know people in my high school on a different level. I love to get to know the younger students. In classes, I do not get to see much of the 9th and 10th grade, so it was nice to get to know them a little better and understand their classes better.

I have already talked extensively about our trip to Jacksonville, so I will not bore you with that.

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

PS. We have our last soccer game today. This will be my last soccer game on the CCS Varsity Soccer Team, ever.
