I got no use for moonlight, or sappy poetry. Love at first sight’s for suckers, at least it used to be.

Hi hey hello,

As I write this, I am listening to the Newsies: The Musical tracks, and I’m in love with it, so pardon me if something sounds weird or if I go on a random tangent about nothing, it’s also midnight so… well yeah.

Anyway, now that I am back in action and ready to keep going strong, I figured I might update you all on my life as of late. Instead of boring you all with words after words, I am going to mix it up with some pictures, and also some words.

After graduation and our party, we went to our classmate’s house and had an after-party. We shot off fireworks, ate yummy food, watched Pirates of the Caribbean, and generally enjoyed each others’ company for a few more hours as a class. It really was a wonderful time, I am so glad we were able to do that, just get away as a class and spend just a little more time together.

The time after graduation and what not was spent literally doing nothing, aside from hanging out with people here and there, until last weekend.

I already talked a considerable amount about orientation, so no more about that.

While I was at orientation, my mom had surgery. She is doing great now, at home, only had to stay at the hospital one night. It was not huge deal, she wasn’t sick or anything, just something that needed to be done. So, now I am at home taking care of my mom, while she recovers. She is doing wonderfully and is taking it easy.

We went to a bakery in Monticelo, Tupelo’s, so yummy. If I hadn’t been so a. concerned for my mother and b. gross, I probably would have taken my camera, or at least snapped some photos with my phone, but alas I did not. It was very yummy though. I got a spice carrot muffin and had a hummingbird cupcake as well. SO DELICIOUS!

I hope you all have had a fine few weeks. I am so glad to be back and I’m excited to see what is to come in the near future.

Here we stand. Worlds apart, hearts broken in two. Sleepless nights. Losing ground. I’m reaching for you.

Hi hey hello,
Last night, I attended a meeting for my graduation party. Quite possibly the most surreal thing ever. It seems so far away, but in reality I am graduating in four months. I am already 18. This is perhaps the most dreamlike thing I have ever experienced in my short life. I know I have ranted about this before, how I can’t believe I am 18 and blah blah blah, so I won’t do that again, but I will talk about something else.

This meeting has gotten me really excited for what happens after graduation. We are having our big graduation party, where all our families come and give us money…err uhm… I mean congratulate us, but what happens after that is the fun part. We are having an after party. I am so pumped for it. Just the seniors, and some parents, are going off somewhere to spend time as a class for quite possibly the last time.

There has been a talk of all of us staying at someone’s house. There has been talk of spending the weekend at the beach. There has been a lot of talk among my classmates. I need some ideas. I am the representative from my class (along with my best friend, Brian) to the parents. We have talked a considerable amount, but still no real final decision.

Have any of you ever done this sort of thing before? Any ideas for us? We need something that will be as low cost as possible, which means no Disney World (we already discussed it… more than once). Any cheap, but incredibly fun ideas for how to spend our last time together as a class?

Ohh Miss international love. Ohh Miss international love.

Hi hey hello,

This semester is flying by, I mean already first month back is almost over. I am graduating in a matter of months, like only a few months. six months from now, I will have graduated, I will no longer be a high school student. It still has not clicked in my head that my high school career is coming to a close, that I am truly growing up. When you are younger, you goyear to year, without much recongition, I mean, thirteen to fourteen, sixteen to seventeen, nothing real changes. But, then you reach your eighteenth birthday. It still doesn’t make sense to me that my eighteenth birthday is a few weeks away. I will be voting in this election, I can buy spray paint, I am an… adult.

In the next few years, my friends will start getting married, a few years after that they will begin to have kids. We will grow up and graduate from college, we will move on with our lives and jobs. Some of us will stay here, others will leave this little old city, some will leave this country. We will all go in different directions. So many of my friends who have already graduated are in college hundreds of miles away. More than one of my friends are preparing to leave for the military (yeah, Joshua and Winston that is your guys). Life is coming at us, fast. We have to make decisions, where we will go to college, what we want to do with our lives, who we will vote for, where we will live, what are lives are to be like.

Things are getting ready to change a lot for us. I don’t know about anyone else, but I am a mite bit excited about it. I like the idea of change, of possibly living by myself. I am excited to move on from high school and take some charge of my life. I know it will be hard, but God is good, and He has a plan for my life. I trust Him with my life. God has got me, He knows the best plan, for His greatest glory, and my greatest good.

What is changing in your life right now? Where do you think you will be in 6 months, a year, 5 years?

Layla, I’m begging, darling please. Layla, darling won’t you ease my worried mind.

Hi hey hello,

I hope you all had as fantastic of a Thanksgiving as I did. I love getting together and seeing family that I don’t often see. Oh how, even now, I miss my little cousins (well, second cousins). They have grown so much since last year. They are so funny and busy. They are in school now! I got to see my older cousins and their families, a lot of time was spent astonished at the fact that my graduation is a mere 6 months away (WOAH!), especially since I will be the first grandchild to graduate from high school, at least on my dad’s side.

Enough reminiscing, I have yet another soccer game tomorrow. This game is against one of our biggest rivals, Taylor County. They are big guys who like to play rough and hit you are hard as they possibly can. This rivalry developed the first time we played them, it was a rough game, and so it has continued ever since. Last year, at one of the games, some words were exchanged between a guy on their team, and one on ours. Some racial comments were made and things got a little sticky. The guy on our team is now our assistant coach, so we have a score to settle, sort of. Wish us luck!

I will have all of my Thanksgiving pictures uploaded as soon as possible, I have been really busy, and the Internet, as I stated before, was a little sketchy at the hotel. It will probably be later this week, but it will be as soon as possible! I should probably also find the cord needed to transfer the pictures, that might be a little bit helpful.

Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving? What did you do? Stay in town? Visit family? What weird traditions does your family have?
