Took this heart and put it through hell, but still you’re magnificent. I, I’m a boomerang, doesn’t matter how you throw me, I turn around and I’m back in the game.

Hi hey hello,

Happy Thursday! As I mentioned yesterday, my friend, Kate’s, birthday was Monday. In celebration we saw The Hunger Games. We made shirts and everything. I was rather proud of mine. It was a black v-neck t-shirt with a spray painted red mockingjay symbol on it. It was faint so you could hardly see it. I LOVED it. I did seriously debate making a team Cinna shirt however. (Cinna may possibly be one of may favorites and I may possibly have cried at his fate.)

Something I did not mention was that my friend, Jenny’s, birthday was the same day as my dad’s. Due to the fact that I am an incredibly busy person and a horrible friend, I only just got her present to her on Monday. I made her duck print fleece pajama pants. Her initial reaction may have been the most amazing, priceless thing EVER. She said, “You made me PANTS?!” It was wonderful. Super simple and fun. She LOVED them. I may get around to post a picture of them, but no promises. 😛

Have a happy Wednesday!

PS. Happy February 1st! I can’t believe a month has already gone by!

Lend me your hand and we’ll conquer them all, but lend me your heart and I’ll just let you fall. Lend me your eyes, I can change what you see, but your soul you must keep totally free.

Hi hey hello,

Over the past few weeks, I have been busy with lots of school, soccer, friends, and making things for people. One of my favorite things to make recently has been homemade candy. Oh my goodness is it yummy. I made it for one of my best friend’s birthday, he loved it. I have made it for my family a few times, they LOVE it. It is so simple and so yummy, but also modifiable. I can make it lemon, or cinnamon, or root beer flavored. Jeez it is good candy.

Another thing I have been making recently is cake. I made my very first legitimate cake, like it had two layers and everything. It was for my little sister’s tenth birthday. Yeah, she is ten. For those of you who know her personally, that is mind-blowing. I made a yellow cake with cream cheese icing. It was really yummy, wasn’t the pretties cake ever, but you should have seen her eyes light up when she saw it.

The final thing I made over this break was a snuggie. Yeah yeah, I know there are varying opinions on snuggies, but my friends loves them. She also loves ducks, so I thought for Christmas, what better things to combine. Our other friend made her duck pillows, so I made her a duck print snuggie. It did have some flaws, but she loved it. I love the look on people’s faces when they find out you made it personally. It is such a rewarding thing, makes me want to do it more often.

What have you handmade recently? Foodies? Clothes? Other things?

I need to take a vacation! If this is settling down, Then why aren’t you here?

Hi hey hello,

Yesterday was a nice day, full of relaxation. I woke up late-ish, went to lunch and the grocery with my family. Hung out around the house, made some yummy hard candy with my mom, and then went to a party of sorts at my friend’s house.

The candy was so much fun to make, only requires sugar, light corn syrup, water, and some flavoring. So simple, yet so yummy! We made lemon and cinnamon. They smell simply wonderful. Cinnamon filled the house as we cooked them up. They are currently sitting on the kitchen counter, hardening, just waiting to be snacked on.

The party was also spectacular. My friend invited the upperclassmen girls over to watch Young Frankenstein. Good movie, some sexual innuendos and a few rather awkward scenes, but other than that, a funny tale. After we watched the movie and ate more food than we ever should have, we went to the Bethlehem Experience at my church. Basically what it was, was Bethlehem the night Jesus was born. Everyone is talking about the story of the shepherds, going to see the baby Jesus, and coming into town for the census. It was very well done and fun to go see. After we walked through it, we went back to my friend’s house and talked for a long time.

It is so nice to get together with the girls for a little while, though my dear Kate was not able to attend, due to a prior engagement, which was exceedingly upsetting. It was overall a fantastic night.
