Consume todo mi interior, Dios. Justicia y amor me abrazan, Señor, Te amo desde mi interior.

Hi hey hello,

I know I have mentioned this more than my fair share of times, but I am leaving Monday for my mission trip to Panama. This is such a surreal experience. I am leaving in t-minus 7 days, leaving the country, getting on a plane and flying to Panama. With the trip so close, you would think that I would be welling up with excitement, but much to my dismay, I am not as excited as I thought I would be. At this point I figured I would be unable to contain my utter joy that I was leaving so soon, but I am not.

Don’t get me wrong, I am excited, but right now, I am caught up with all the details. I am helping plan the VBS for the kids we help work with and right now, it seems like I have so much to do. It may not seem like I have to do a lot, but I also may be translating for a few people giving their testimonies on top of translating in general, and I am getting a mite overwhelmed. I am trying to focus on my spiritual preparations, but I just cannot narrow my scope. I know that once I get there things will fall into place, and so I really just want to push things out of the way and prepare my heart, but it is rather difficult.

Any ideas for clearing your mind? What do you guys do?

Yes we’re going to a party party. Yes we’re going to a party party. I would like you to dance, birthday. Take a cha-cha-cha-chance, birthday.

Hi hey hello,

As some of you may know, my birthday was Friday! I turned the big one eight. Yesterday I did my first thing you have to be 18 to do, I went and bought spray paint. At first, she didn’t ask for my ID, so I was kind of sad, but then she realized her mistake and checked my ID. It sort of made my day.

For my birthday however, I realized just how awesome my friends are. When I first got to school, I saw a sign on my locker, it read something along the lines of, “I didn’t have any paper to make you an awesome sign with… so happy birthday.” I laughed and then opened my locker, there were three signs in there, the first of which read “Psych!” The next was a nice card and at the bottom it said  ” you must be 18 years or older to call.” with an arrow pointing to it that said “that’s you!!!” It was great.

Then, my friend Taylor got to school and she brought me some wall art. It was some of my favorite quotes that were on my pinterest, painted onto scrapbook paper. It was amazing, can’t wait to frame and hang them! They are beautiful. There were lots of “happy birthdays” and hugs, but then after school, I walked down to my car and was astonished. My car was written on with window chalk. The windows read, “Birthday Princess” with a crown over my head, “I want a baby dino”, “It’s my birthday. I’m an adult. 18! I’m old.” , and “Sing happy birthday to me. You know you want to.” It was simply wonderful, then I saw the inside. I had a ton of balloons and streamers all throughout my car. I was so unbelievably happy. And then to top that all off, my friends made me cake batter puppy chow, best thing EVER. Seriously, try it.

And then, when I got to my grandparents’ house in Clearwater, they had a little cake that said happy 18th birthday.

I mean, I knew that my friends and family are awesome and what not, but I never knew to what extent exactly. I couldn’t make it through my day without my wonderful friends. They make life more bearable. I love them to death.

So, thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I love you all!

Disney Expedition: Day Five

Hi hey hello,

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I know I did, but more on that later. Today, I get to tell you guys about Day five!

On day five, we were leaving, so we packed up camp, got everything all cleaned up, checked out and headed out of the campground. We went to Animal Kingdom for the day, and though it was cold and windy, we had a blast! We went on the safari ride. The kids got to see all kinds of animals, from giraffes, to lions, to ostriches. They loved it! All of the kids, excluding Maddy of course, got to ride Expedition Everest. They LOVED that ride, they even stood patiently, for the most part, in the 45 minute wait. It was magnificent! We ate lunch and headed home shortly after this. We got home late that night, unpacked, and gratefully snuggled up into our beds. Now, picture time:

It was an amazing trip. I love Disney and that whole area so much! And though it was an awesome trip, I am very glad to be home.

What do you miss most when you go out of town?

Jesus, You’re the one who saves us. Constantly creates us into something new. Jesus, surely you will finds us. Surely our Messiah will make all things new, will make all things new.

Hi hey hello,

These past couple weeks have been filled with spending lots and lots of time with friends, from New Year’s at Taylor’s, to whole week during the Winter Ex, to seeing Beauty and the Beast in 3D. I love getting some downtime to spend time with my girls and guys. On MLK day, I spent it watching a movie with friends and then spending the afternoon having our last soccer practice as a team. It was so enjoyable to spend our day off playing soccer with the best team I could ever ask for, but more on that later. The Beauty and the Beast in 3D was absolutely awesome. It had been so long since I had seen it, so seeing it in 3D was spectacular, if you like the movie and get a chance, go see it.

We spent Winter Ex spending moment after moment with each other, it is wonderful to get to know people in my high school on a different level. I love to get to know the younger students. In classes, I do not get to see much of the 9th and 10th grade, so it was nice to get to know them a little better and understand their classes better.

I have already talked extensively about our trip to Jacksonville, so I will not bore you with that.

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

PS. We have our last soccer game today. This will be my last soccer game on the CCS Varsity Soccer Team, ever.

Our God is greater, our God is higher. God, You are higher than any other.

Hi hey hello,

I mentioned yesterday that I participated in a high ropes course on our Winter Expedition, so today, I wanted to talk a little about that. We started out the morning with low ropes courses, balancing on a “boat”, planning out catches, throwing objects, etc. It was incredibly fun, but one of the things that I could not get out of my mind was the high ropes course. I am utterly petrified of heights, unless they are involved in a roller coaster, I know, odd. Anyway, the time came for us to begin the high ropes courses.

They were of course, not what I was expecting. I was figuring it would be something like an obstacle course in the air. While one of the things we did was similar, they were different. The first thing we did was basically a ladder, tire climb, rope net, and rock climbing all in one. Everyone attempted it, I did horribly, and panicked not very far off the ground, but am proud that I actually attempted it. The other thing the group I was in did was jumping off a telephone pole. It was about 40 feet off the ground, and you jumped to a trapeze that was a few feet away. Due to my aforementioned fear of heights, I did not participate in this event. I greatly regret it now, but life goes on.

Though it was not technically part of the high ropes course, I figured I would go ahead and include this in. The next day we did for real rock climbing, like on rocks. It was insane. There were 5 different walls, an easy one, a medium one, a harder one, a hard one, and then a SUPER hard one. I did the medium one, and much to my amazement, got to the top! I was so unbelievably proud of myself. I did not think at all that I would get anywhere near the top, but I did it. I know this may not be some huge accomplishment for some of you, but it was for me. I never thought I would have been able to do that, it was truly only through God. I would not have been able to do that without Him. There were a few times when I got to spots that I had freak outs that I would stop and pray. It was so refreshing.

God is so awesome!

Have you ever done anything like that? High ropes courses? Rock climbing? What was your experience like?

PS. Happy birthday to my darling sister Hannah! She is ten today!

I may not make it through the night, I won’t go home without you. The taste of your breath, I’ll never get over, the noises that she made kept me awake

Hi hey hello!

Happy new year! I still cannot believe it is 2012, 2011 seems like just yesterday.

Anyway, for New Year’s, Jenny and I were in Jacksonville with our beautiful friend, Taylor! The time was wonderful, we arrived Saturday afternoon where we had delicious food at Pollo Tropical. I got a chipotle chicken sandwich with corn. That was amazing! So good, if you get a chance to go to JAX, go to Pollo Tropical, get real tasting Cuban food, in a nice restaurant with good, quick service. Then, we went back to the house for a few moments, to get my camera, which I ended up not using much. Sad day!

We went to a military base, drove around for a while in it, with Taylor narrating all the way through. We went to the commissary, which is the military word for grocery store. Of course the military needs a whole separate word for such a common thing. Then we headed back to the house and made fudge! While the fudge set we went looking for Christmas trees. You know how most people put their Christmas trees out, well NO ONE in Taylor’s area does, well except for this one house in a sketchy trailer park, who had a HUGE tree. Heck yes! We went back, shot off some fireworks, sat by the fire, decorated gingerbread men, and ate fudge.

We got up yesterday morning and went to Baby D’s baptism, it was so cute. After they sprinkled the water on his head, D’avieon reached down and put some more water on his head. So cute. For lunch, we went to Outback with Taylor’s gift card. Yummy! Then we headed out to St. John’s Town Center. That place was amazing! Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, the biggest Forever 21 I have ever seen! I loved it, got a few things, then we took Taylor home and Jenny and I headed home.

It was so nice to see Taylor and all of her sweet family. Jack, D’avieon, Mrs.Krista, Mr.John, the foster kids, oh what a wonderful time. I simply cannot wait for our next trip over there hopefully this time with more friends accompanying us!
