My Not So Insta-Worthy Life

IMG_6217_2I was reading through a post once again by one of my favorite bloggers, Stephanie over here. She was talking about how life feels small and there are not huge insta-worthy things happening, I was struck so much by how accurate of a description that is of my life.

Most of my days follow the same mundane schedule, get up, go to work, come home, do work for youth, and go to bed. This schedule has really gotten me down recently. Because I am not taking a ton of classes or working full time or bustling around with a crazy awesome life, I get down and get bored.

This post reminded me that  I need to be taking advantage of this time, I need to use this time wisely. God is using this time to grow me and change me into a women of Him. I pray that as I walk through this period in my life, I will use this time that I have to spend more time with God and take time for myself to grow and change.

I got no use for moonlight, or sappy poetry. Love at first sight’s for suckers, at least it used to be.

Hi hey hello,

As I write this, I am listening to the Newsies: The Musical tracks, and I’m in love with it, so pardon me if something sounds weird or if I go on a random tangent about nothing, it’s also midnight so… well yeah.

Anyway, now that I am back in action and ready to keep going strong, I figured I might update you all on my life as of late. Instead of boring you all with words after words, I am going to mix it up with some pictures, and also some words.

Graduation:

After graduation and our party, we went to our classmate’s house and had an after-party. We shot off fireworks, ate yummy food, watched Pirates of the Caribbean, and generally enjoyed each others’ company for a few more hours as a class. It really was a wonderful time, I am so glad we were able to do that, just get away as a class and spend just a little more time together.

The time after graduation and what not was spent literally doing nothing, aside from hanging out with people here and there, until last weekend.

Orientation:

I already talked a considerable amount about orientation, so no more about that.

While I was at orientation, my mom had surgery. She is doing great now, at home, only had to stay at the hospital one night. It was not huge deal, she wasn’t sick or anything, just something that needed to be done. So, now I am at home taking care of my mom, while she recovers. She is doing wonderfully and is taking it easy.

We went to a bakery in Monticelo, Tupelo’s, so yummy. If I hadn’t been so a. concerned for my mother and b. gross, I probably would have taken my camera, or at least snapped some photos with my phone, but alas I did not. It was very yummy though. I got a spice carrot muffin and had a hummingbird cupcake as well. SO DELICIOUS!

I hope you all have had a fine few weeks. I am so glad to be back and I’m excited to see what is to come in the near future.
