Just got word that our buddies is hurtin’. Facing total disaster for certain.

Hi hey hello,

I hope you all had a spectacular weekend! I sure did! Friday, I babysat, as usual, then ate a yummy Chinese takeout dinner. Saturday was Vlad’s birthday party, happy birthday him! We had a bunch of friends over and swam, at yummy food and Publix cake, and had a generally fun time! Sunday was so unbelievably awesome.

We went scalloping Sunday. We left around 10 ish and were out on the ocean by probably 11. It was so amazing. If you haven’t ever been, I cannot even describe the feeling. It is so peaceful and calm, but at the same time so thrilling. As Kate once put it, “It’s like an Easter egg hunt!” I had never been before, so it was especially cool. We are already planning another trip to go out! We brought home the scallops and while my mom and brother shelled them and while my dad and other brother cleaned the boat, Hannah and I went back up to the marina because my parents forgot a rather important basket. We had to drive 40 minutes there and 40 minutes back. When you’re already tired from scalloping all day, an hour and 20 minute drive seems very long, luckily we got Starbucks to make up for it!

My mom made an amazing pasta dish with the scallops, it was so good I didn’t even get a picture of it. I seriously ate that stuff in like 2 seconds. Okay, that’s a little bit of an overstatement, but you get the point. IT WAS WONDERFUL.

Also, today is Vlad’s birthday, so all you people should send him birthday thoughts, and if you are friends with him on FB, tell him happy birthday! He’s the big 1-4. That is crazy.

Anyway, have a good Monday!

Have any of you been scalloping? Love it? Hate it?

Lend me your hand and we’ll conquer them all, but lend me your heart and I’ll just let you fall. Lend me your eyes, I can change what you see, but your soul you must keep totally free.

Hi hey hello,

Over the past few weeks, I have been busy with lots of school, soccer, friends, and making things for people. One of my favorite things to make recently has been homemade candy. Oh my goodness is it yummy. I made it for one of my best friend’s birthday, he loved it. I have made it for my family a few times, they LOVE it. It is so simple and so yummy, but also modifiable. I can make it lemon, or cinnamon, or root beer flavored. Jeez it is good candy.

Another thing I have been making recently is cake. I made my very first legitimate cake, like it had two layers and everything. It was for my little sister’s tenth birthday. Yeah, she is ten. For those of you who know her personally, that is mind-blowing. I made a yellow cake with cream cheese icing. It was really yummy, wasn’t the pretties cake ever, but you should have seen her eyes light up when she saw it.

The final thing I made over this break was a snuggie. Yeah yeah, I know there are varying opinions on snuggies, but my friends loves them. She also loves ducks, so I thought for Christmas, what better things to combine. Our other friend made her duck pillows, so I made her a duck print snuggie. It did have some flaws, but she loved it. I love the look on people’s faces when they find out you made it personally. It is such a rewarding thing, makes me want to do it more often.

Hi hey hello,

So, today is the day. The big day, Turkey Day, Engorge Yourself Days, otherwise known as Thanksgiving. This day is so widely celebrated as a day where we get together as families and eat food, and then watch football, the eat some more food, and maybe even consume some spirits. But do we really remember why we celebrate this holiday, we are supposed to be thankful for what we have. Now, I do not want to rant on and on, so I will move on.

I want to not just be thankful today, but every day of my life, because I am so blessed. I mean, I have three good meals a day, a big comfy bed, enough clothing, a roof over my head. That is a lot more than a lot of people in the world can claim to have. I also have a family, with two parents and lots of siblings, that more than a lot of people in America alone can claim to have. On this day every year, people sit down and think about what they are thankful for, but then move on. Why not be thankful everyday? I want to be able to say each day that I found something to be thankful for, no matter how huge or minuscule.

I will begin this challenge with a list however, of the things I am thankful for in my life.  I will keep it brief because I have scores of things to be grateful for:

What I Am Thankful For:

  • Family – who love and support me
  • Friends – who are there to kick me into shape when I need it
  • God – to loves me and guides me even when I am a total jerk
  • Music – for keeping me sane
  • You guys! – for encouraging me and keeping me accountable for this little blog

I love you guys! I hope you have a splendiferous Thanksgiving, full of family, thanks, friends, love, and of course a little food. I will hopefully have pictures up from our party this weekend!

I got a pocket, got a pocket full of sunshine, I got a love and I know that it’s all mine oh…

Hi hey hello,

So, I just finished watching a football game as I write this. I cannot believe FSU lost to Virginia… this is horrific and we think we stand a chance against Florida next week. I mean really. Sorry for the nonsensical ranting, but I do love my team.

On a better note, we had my hometown thanksgiving dinner today. Half of my family lives in town and the other half lives down south, so we will be going there for Thanksgiving day, but we had our little feast today with the family that lives here. Some aunts and uncles came, along with cousins who I haven’t seen in a while, the best friend also showed up. I love it when you are so close to someone that it seems normal to have them over for Thanksgiving dinner. I thought about doing the stereotypical “What I am Thankful For..” post, but I figured I would save that for the real Thanksgiving.

Do you all have multiple Thanksgiving celebrations due to family location? Do you enjoy football, if so, who is your team? If not, what sports do you like, to play or watch?
